PETALING JAYA:
Parti Bangsa Malaysia has plunged into a deeper crisis with party president Larry Sng announcing the suspension of more Supreme Council members for alleged indiscipline.

“This also includes the suspension of Zuraida Kamaruddin as an ordinary member of PBM,” Sng said in a Facebook post.

Sng said the suspensions were in relation to the members’ involvement in undermining the interest of the party and its leadership.

“I strongly despise and condemn such political manoeuvring which has undermined the trust of my leadership and have caused much confusion to party members and the general public at large,” he said.

He added that their positions will be suspended until a disciplinary committee is established to look into the matter after the coming general election.

The Supreme Council members who have been suspended are Daroyah Alwi, Haniza Mohamad Talha, Rahimah Majid, Sathiskumar Govindaraju, Muhammad Saiful Bahari Sahari, Na’im Brundage, Abdul Aziz Abdul Kadir, Zakaria Abdul Rahim, Muniraa Abu Bakar, Chua Lian Chye, Roger Tan and Albakri Salim.

This comes a day after Sng suspended PBM secretary-general Nor Hizwan Ahmad and information chief Zakaria Abdul Hamid. Sng said the duo’s suspension was related to a PBM Supreme Council meeting on Oct 7. He said he did not call for the meeting although he was the party’s president.

The council had agreed that Zuraida would replace Sng as party president.

However, earlier today, Nor Hizwan denied that he and Zakaria had been suspended from the party. He said they had yet to receive any official notice on their suspension.

Sng said a Supreme Council meeting will be called on Sunday in Sarikei, Sarawak in view of the suspensions.

“Those who have been suspended will not be invited to attend the meeting,” he said. “Their letters of suspension have been sent to them individually.”
