Lift ban on PH leaders entering Sarawak, urges Anwar

The PH chairman says he does not want any issues or conflicts with the Sarawak government.

Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim said the senior PH leaders needed to enter Sarawak to campaign for the coalition’s candidates.
PETALING JAYA:
Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim has urged Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg to lift the ban on certain coalition leaders entering the Borneo state.

Anwar urged Abang Johari, who is also Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman, to lift the ban and allow PH leaders to campaign for its candidates in Sarawak for the general election (GE15).

“I hope that the premier of Sarawak will be able to give some consideration in withdrawing the ban,” the PKR president said in a Facebook post.

Yesterday, PKR revealed its 16 candidates for parliamentary seats in Sarawak for GE15.

Dayak Daily quoted Anwar as saying that several PH leaders, including PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli and vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, had been banned from entering the state.

Anwar also said he wanted to avoid any conflict and hoped that Abang Johari would take heed of his request.

“We do not want any issues or conflicts with the Sarawak government,” he said.
