A source close to the agriculture and food industries minister said Kiandee will file his nomination papers tomorrow.
“Just wait for a surprise tomorrow. What I can confirm is that he won’t contest as an independent,” the source told FMT.
In GE14, Kiandee won the Beluran seat on an Umno ticket before defecting to Bersatu.
Bersatu is the lynchpin of GRS, the ruling coalition in Sabah.
GRS and Sabah BN had agreed to cooperate for GE15.
On Tuesday, the two coalitions unveiled their candidates for the nationwide polls, though no one was announced for the Beluran seat.
Late last night, Sabah BN chairman Bung Moktar Radin announced that former Sandakan municipal council president Benedict Asmat would be contesting the Beluran seat.
Kiandee had won the Beluran seat for BN in the 2018 general election with a majority of over 7,000 votes.
A five-term Beluran MP, he had quit Umno in December 2018 when Pakatan Harapan formed the government.
