Umno’s finished if voter turnout hits 80%, says Muhyiddin

Muhyiddin Yassin says the main reason BN won the Johor elections was because of the low voter turnout.

Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin said Umno won the Johor state elections because many of its supporters came out to vote.
PAGOH:
Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin believes that Umno is finished if 80% of registered voters come out to vote on Nov 19.

He said the low voter turnout for the Johor state polls was the main reason why BN had won big in that election.

In this year’s Johor state elections, only around 55% of voters came out to vote. BN won 40 out of the 56 seats up for grabs.

Muhyiddin then called on voters from every village to come out in droves on polling day.

“In the Johor state polls, many did not come out to vote and BN won because of hardcore Umno supporters,” he said at a ceramah tonight.

Muhyiddin went on to say that GE15 was important because it was about the people, and not about leaders like himself, Pejuang’s Dr Mahathir Mohamad or Umno’s Ismail Sabri Yaakob or Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“So it is our responsibility to come out on Nov 19,” he said, referring to the polling date.
