The PN election director said Cabinet ministers were usually required to declare their assets to the anti-graft agency.
“And this we have done,” the international trade and industry minister said at a press conference.
“We don’t have to follow what others do,” he said. Several PKR leaders had declared their assets in the past few days, including president Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy Rafizi Ramli.
Azmin, who is defending his Gombak parliamentary seat in the general election, was responding to questions on whether he or other PN leaders would declare their assets in the lead-up to Nov 19.
He also took a swipe at PN’s rivals who declared their assets but were contesting the polls despite facing corruption charges.
“It’s all a farce.”
Azmin said if the parties that believed in public declaration of their candidates’ assets were truly committed to fighting corruption, they should set a good example by not fielding those with ongoing court cases in the general election.
