PETALING JAYA:
DAP members have been instructed not to hold any celebrations or convoys to celebrate the King’s decision to appoint Anwar Ibrahim as Malaysia’s 10th prime minister.

In a statement, DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook urged all parties to remain calm and respect the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Malay rulers’ decision.

“The government that will be formed is a unity government that comprises various coalitions of political parties.

“We must work together and unite in helping the prime minister lead the country,” said the Seremban MP.

Earlier, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli made a similar call on Pakatan Harapan and PKR members, saying this was to avoid any risk of provocation.

Rafizi also advised supporters to be careful with media statements issued by other political leaders and any social media content that can be used as an excuse for provocation.
