PETALING JAYA: Melaka chief minister Ab Rauf Yusoh says there is no need for a senior state executive councillor to go on leave following allegations of a scandal with a woman.
“There is no need to go on leave (as the allegation) is false,” he was quoted by Berita Harian as saying.
Yesterday, Rauf said he considered the allegation a smear tactic that could be targeted at anyone.
He also said he considered the allegation to be defamatory and a game played by political rivals.
The allegation had gone viral on Monday.
Rauf also said he knew how the controversy had cropped up but refused to comment further.
