No need for exco to go on leave, says Rauf

The Melaka chief minister says the allegation linking an exco member to a woman is false.

Melaka chief minister Ab Rauf Yusoh said he knew how the controversy had cropped up but refused to comment further.

Melaka chief minister Ab Rauf Yusoh says there is no need for a senior state executive councillor to go on leave following allegations of a scandal with a woman.

“There is no need to go on leave (as the allegation) is false,” he was quoted by Berita Harian as saying.

Yesterday, Rauf said he considered the allegation a smear tactic that could be targeted at anyone.

He also said he considered the allegation to be defamatory and a game played by political rivals.

The allegation had gone viral on Monday.

Rauf also said he knew how the controversy had cropped up but refused to comment further.
