KOTA KINABALU:
Sabah chief minister Hajiji Noor is scheduled to undergo a procedure to remove gallstones next week.

The Sabah chief minister’s office, in a statement today, said Hajiji had been experiencing pain but was otherwise in good health.

“Speculations have been rife over the past few days about the chief minister’s health. He thanks all for their concern and prayers,” read the statement.

The statement also said Hajiji attended the state government’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house at the Sabah International Convention Centre here today.

The Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah Juhar Mahiruddin and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim were present at the event.

At the gathering, Hajiji presented Hari Raya contributions to the underprivileged, including inmates of old folks’ homes, as well as members of the Society for the Blind and Society for the Deaf.
