Singer Matty Healy allegedly spoke out against Malaysia’s laws against the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and kissed his male bandmate in the middle of the show.

Healy also appeared to be drunk during the show, which was stopped halfway by the organisers. In videos that have been widely shared on social media, Healy told the crowd the show was over as “we have been banned from Kuala Lumpur”.

Fahmi expressed disappointment over Healy’s actions in a tweet, saying he was “very uncouth”.

“I have called up the organiser to explain the matter and will be in touch with the authorities to get a full report on the matter.”
