SHAH ALAM:
The education ministry is investigating an allegation that a disabled student was bullied by her teacher at school.

Education minister Fadhlina Sidek said all parties, including the school, have been identified and others have been roped in to ensure the investigation is thorough.

“The case is under investigation and we will ensure that the process goes smoothly,” she told reporters after the launch of the ministry’s Malaysian Education Development Plan 2013-2025 Annual Report for 2022 here today.

Yesterday, it was reported that a disabled student under the special education integrated programme at a school was left traumatised after she was allegedly bullied by a female teacher.

Fadhlina urged the public to use channels such as the public complaints management system (SISPA) and the ministry’s social media platform to report bullying cases or other general complaints.

“We want to invite the community to use the proper channels so we can deal with all the issues more efficiently and effectively based on our process and workflow,” she said.
