
PETALING JAYA: Umno’s former Ladang assemblyman Roslan Awang Chik died today at the age of 73.
Roslan, who held the state seat in Terengganu for one term from 1995 to 1999, died at 2.51am while being treated at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for a stroke.
According to Berita Harian, his son, Fadhlan, said the former Kuala Terengganu Umno chief breathed his last while surrounded by loved ones.
Fadhlan also said his father had been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer two years ago and was undergoing treatment.
Roslan had also led the Terengganu chapter of the Malay contractors’ association, and was a senator for two terms from 2004 to 2010.
