PETALING JAYA:
Bersatu Youth chief Hilman Idham has slammed executive council member Wan Meor Safwat Naqiuddin Shamsudin after the latter resigned from his bureau post citing a lack of good governance in the youth wing’s administrative structure.

Hilman said Wan Meor should not try to teach others about good governance and should instead hand over his responsibilities as the Bersatu Youth professional and volunteer bureau chief to his replacement.

“There’s no need to talk and teach others about governance. As the former working secretary (of Bersatu Youth), hand over all documents related to administration and management (of the wing).

“Your term is over. It’s time for a new leader to take over,” he told FMT.

Hilman, the Gombak Setia assemblyman, added that Wan Meor should raise issues at the Bersatu Youth exco meeting rather than through the media.

“Don’t stay silent (at meetings) and then act like a pest outside. I don’t have time to play politics, I want to work.”

Earlier, Wan Meor said he resigned as the wing’s professional and volunteer bureau chief due to disagreements with Hilman concerning Bersatu Youth’s administrative structure.

Wan Meor, who was working secretary when Bersatu Youth was led by Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, said the current structure established by Hilman did not reflect good governance and could destabilise the whole wing.

He remains a Bersatu Youth exco member.
