Zaliha made ‘Datuk Seri’, Fahmi given ‘Datuk’ title

The ministers were among 32 people given federal territory awards, decorations, and medals in conjunction with Federal Territory Day.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Federal territories minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa and communications minister Fahmi Fadzil are among 32 people given federal territory awards, decorations, and medals in conjunction with Federal Territory Day.

The investiture ceremony at Balairong Seri, Istana Negara, here today was attended by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Permaisuri Agong, Raja Zarith Sofiah.

Zaliha and federal territories department director-general Noridah Abdul Rahim, who were presented with the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Mahkota Wilayah which carries the “Datuk Seri” title, headed the list of recipients.

Fahmi meanwhile was among nine individuals who received the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW), which carries the “Datuk” title.

Others who received the PMW award were Lembaga Tabung Haji group managing director and CEO Syed Hamadah Syed Othman, education director-general Azman Adnan, Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Justice Hayatul Akmal Abdul Aziz, and Istana Negara legal adviser Zulharry Abdul Rashid.

The king also presented the Darjah Johan Mahkota Wilayah to six people, the Kesatria Mahkota Wilayah to five, the Ahli Mahkota Wilayah to four, and the Pangkuan Mahkota Wilayah medal to six.

The ceremony, which lasted about an hour, was also attended by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, as well as deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and other Cabinet members.
