The rally, organised by the Secretariat Humanity 4 Gaza (H4G) and the Malaysian Ulama Association, will see participants gather at three locations – Masjid Negara, Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad and the Sogo shopping complex – before marching to Dataran Merdeka.

Dang Wangi police chief Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said police have been notified of the rally and are preparing for a big turnout involving NGOs, students and the public.

“Traffic congestion is expected due to the large number of participants, but traffic control measures will be in place,” he said.

He reminded the organisers and participants to follow all laws and regulations when exercising their constitutional right to assemble peacefully.

Sulizmie also listed several prohibited items, including weapons, sharp objects such as knives, parangs, metal and wooden items, firecrackers, flares and smoke bombs, and placards with content related to race, religion or royalty.

He also warned against making seditious statements and false accusations.

Participants were also advised against bringing children, and warned that disobedience towards law enforcement officers will not be tolerated.

“Firm action will be taken against anyone who causes unrest or incites provocation,” he said, urging full cooperation with the police throughout the event.
