PETALING JAYA:
Three former assemblymen as well as an Upko vice-president are among 13 candidates in the running for the Inanam seat.

The seat is once again shaping up to be one of the key battlegrounds in the Sabah state election.

PKR’s Peto Galim, who won the seat in 2020, will be seeking a second term as Inanam assemblyman. PKR has held the seat since the 2013 general election.

He will be challenged by two of his predecessors, Kenny Chua of Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku and Dr Roland Chia, who were elected Inanam assemblyman in 2018 and 2013, respectively.

Chia had quit Hajiji Noor’s Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah today to be nominated as an independent candidate. He was previously in PKR and Sabah Bersatu before joining Gagasan Rakyat.

The other candidates are Upko vice-president Wong Thien Fook, Edna Jessica Majimbun (Warisan), Lewis Wong (Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat), Paul Anap (Parti Impian Sabah), Joseph Linggian (Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri), Sumali Marino Ahmad (Parti Rumpun Sabah), Gordon Lai (Parti Bumi Kenyalang), Martin Sibit (Parti Gemilang Anak Sabah), Chia Yun Kong (Perjuangan Rakyat), Joseph Linggian (Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri) and Shone Eric Jr Majimbun (Independent).
