Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar said the three would be charged with voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon, criminal intimidation and committing mischief resulting in damage.
“The trio will also be charged with disorderly conduct in a police station,” he said in a statement.
Earlier today, it was reported that police arrested eight men who got into a fight at the Meru police station on Monday.
Three of the suspects were at the police station to file a report when five others entered and the brawl ensued.
Shazeli had said the incident was believed to have stemmed from a dispute between the two groups over looking after “security” in a housing area.
This evening, Shazeli said the remaining five would be prosecution witnesses.
Separately, home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail denied claims circulating on social media that the police station had been attacked, adding that such claims were irresponsible.
He also said there was no need for police to review its standard operating procedures despite the incident, Bernama reported.
