Woman suffers 70% burns in two-vehicle crash on Jalan Tun Razak

KUALA LUMPUR:
A woman suffered burns to about 70% of her body, while two passengers escaped with minor injuries, following a two-vehicle collision on Jalan Tun Razak, near The Avenue Club, early today.

The fire and rescue department said it dispatched eight personnel from the Jalan Tun Razak station after receiving an emergency call at 5.21am.

“The accident involved a Peugeot driven by the woman and a Toyota Vellfire multi-purpose vehicle with two people in it,” it said in a statement.

On arrival, firefighters found the Peugeot completely ablaze. The woman, in her 20s, had been rescued by members of the public.

“The fire was extinguished at 5:32am, and all three victims were handed over to medical personnel,” the department said.

The crash caused massive traffic congestion in the area and pictures and videos were widely shared on social media.
