PETALING JAYA:
A Pahang mechanic lost nearly RM250,000 after being duped into investing in “American Coins” and other shares.

Pahang police chief Yahaya Othman said the 64-year-old man received a WhatsApp message from an individual offering high returns on investments within a short period, Bernama reported.

“Between Sept 2 and Nov 3, 2025, the victim made six money transfer transactions to three different bank accounts provided by the individual using his savings.

“However, after all the transactions were made, the man did not receive any returns as promised, and the individual could no longer be contacted.

“The victim later realised he had been cheated,” Yahaya said in a statement today.

The victim then lodged a report at the Temerloh police headquarters yesterday.
