
The 32-year-old said the assurance of lifelong monthly payments allows her to “breathe” and focus on her children’s education and future after losing their 33-year-old father.
“Alhamdulillah, I feel somewhat relieved and grateful. I feel my husband truly thought about the family. He prepared for everything.
“When I saw the pension amount earlier, I felt like I could breathe again,” she said after a ceremony to hand over the pension benefits at her home here.
The mother of three stressed the importance of contributing to Perkeso and urged employers to register their workers to ensure future protection.
Nadia said she plans to return to her hometown in Batu Kurau, Taiping, Perak, later to look for a job that allows her to care for her children.
Earlier, Perkeso confirmed that Amirul’s wife would receive a monthly payment of RM2,888.17.
Perkeso CEO Azman Aziz Mohammed said Amirul’s employer TVH Malaysia had consistently paid his Perkeso contributions over the last 15 years, a key factor in his family’s eligibility for full pension benefits.
Besides the monthly pension, Perkeso also handed over RM3,000 for funeral expenses, as well as an assurance that her children will receive education loans when they continue their tertiary education.
