The Larut MP said the new party he joins following his sacking from Bersatu in February could very well be among the three components of Perikatan Nasional, Berita Harian reported.
The parties in PN are Bersatu, PAS, and Gerakan.
“People get confused when I use the term ‘new home’. It may not necessarily be referring to forming a new party.
“That’s why I say we should all wait first … My new party may already be in PN,” he was quoted as saying.
Asked if there was a chance he could join PAS, Hamzah remained coy, but did not dismiss the possibility.
“What’s wrong with joining PAS? All I will say is that I will have a ‘new home’, but this home may already be in existence,” said the former Bersatu deputy president.
Hamzah was sacked from Bersatu in February at the height of a bitter leadership tussle with party president Muhyiddin Yassin.
He and five other former Bersatu MPs – Saifuddin Abdullah, Wan Saiful Wan Jan, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, Fathul Huzir Ayob and Azahari Hasan – remain without a party.
Last month, Hamzah confirmed discussions to join and lead Parti Keluarga Malaysia though it has yet to be registered with the RoS, with its initial application rejected in 2022.
