Perak police chief Noor Hisam Nordin said the latest arrests were made in the Menglembu area this morning.
Four other suspects in their 20s and 30s, including the main suspect, were previously nabbed around Ipoh and Sungai Siput.
“Initial investigations found that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between two groups, believed to involve personal issues.
“Investigations indicate that it was more of a personal dispute between the two groups and did not involve elements of serious organised crime,” Noor Hisam said at a press conference.
On Tuesday, Ipoh police chief Najib Hamzah said his team was informed about a man who was found dead with slash wounds following a fight at around 11.10pm on Monday.
Two of the victim’s friends who were injured in the incident are still receiving treatment.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, as well as Sections 326 and 148 of the same code for causing grievous hurt and rioting while armed with a weapon.
