Aminuddin said Tuanku Muhriz granted him an audience earlier today, where he informed the ruler about the status of the support for the state government.
At a press conference in Seremban, Aminuddin said the state government would continue functioning as usual, though Umno assemblymen would no longer be a part of the state executive council, having retracted support for him.
“After considering the matter, the Yang di-Pertuan Besar advised that I continue serving as menteri besar as long as the matter had not been conclusively clarified.
“The state government will continue performing its duties, ensuring that administrative matters proceed smoothly and the interests of the people of Negeri Sembilan continue to be preserved.
“The next course of action will be carried out according to the constitutional and legal provisions in force,” he said.
Earlier today, Negeri Sembilan Umno retracted its support for Aminuddin, declaring that all its 14 assemblymen had lost confidence in him.
The state chapter’s chairman, Jalaluddin Alias, said the decision to retract support for Aminuddin was linked to the ongoing crisis involving four chieftains seeking to remove Tuanku Muhriz from his position.
