PETALING JAYA:
Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) says Malaysia Airlines will resume limited services to Doha from July 2, following Qatar’s reopening of its airspace to international carriers and the gradual resumption of operations at Hamad International Airport.

“The reopening of operations follows the issuance of a notice to airmen (Notam) by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), confirming operational readiness.

“International airline services are now gradually resuming, with initial flights operating through a designated flight corridor coordinated by QCAA,” it said in a statement today.

MAG said the airline’s operations would initially be limited to one daily service (flight MH160/161), while the remaining frequencies (MH164/165 and MH168/169) would remain suspended until Oct 24, subject to ongoing review.

“The airline will continue to closely monitor the situation through ongoing risk assessments and relevant Notams before fully resuming operations,” it said.

MAG also said Amal by Malaysia Airlines, the group’s haj and umrah pilgrimage arm, is operating flights to Jeddah and Madinah as scheduled, with 110 flights across two phases transporting 15,620 pilgrims.
