Ho Weng Wah lodged the report at the Seremban police headquarters at noon following a Facebook post by Badrul, titled “Anthony Loke must be investigated for funding an illegal entity – Majlis Dato Lembaga Adat Sungei Ujong”.

“The post contains allegations that Loke had channelled a substantial amount of funds to an allegedly illegal entity and links them to the controversy surrounding the state’s royal institution,” Bernama reported Ho as saying, adding that it also touched on sensitive issues of race, religion and royalty (3Rs).

He called for firm action against the spread of such false information and defamatory content, particularly those involving sensitive 3R issues.

He said the post was believed to have violated several legal provisions, including Sections 505 and 499 of the Penal Code for public mischief and defamation, as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities.

Earlier today, Badrul, more popularly known as Chegubard, apologised to Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad as part of a settlement in a libel suit in the High Court.

He read out a public apology in court, formally retracting the allegations concerning a flood mitigation project, made in four Facebook posts published in December 2023, and admitting that they were false and baseless.
