A Bangladeshi national was charged in the Kuala Lumpur courthouse today with sexually assaulting five women at train stations in the capital city.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the 41-year-old man was arrested at the Maluri MRT station at 11.45am on Monday.

“The victims were aged 21 to 28. The offences occurred at the Chan Sow Lin LRT station, as well as the Maluri and Taman Midah MRT stations.

“The five charges against the suspect were brought under Section 354 of the Penal Code, which provides for up to 10 years’ imprisonment, a fine, whipping or any two of these, upon conviction,” he said in a statement today.
