Fahmi said the Cabinet was informed that the matter had been “settled” after discussions between the coalition leaders.
He said the Negeri Sembilan unity government will continue to function as normal under menteri besar Aminuddin Harun.
Fahmi added that any future issues that arise will be referred to the central leadership of the respective parties, in line with the agreements signed under the unity government framework.
The political crisis in Negeri Sembilan was sparked after all 14 Umno-BN assemblymen withdrew their support for Aminuddin, who is from PKR.
They withdrew their support, citing a loss of confidence.
The assemblymen said their decision was linked to the ongoing crisis involving four chieftains seeking to remove the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan from his position.
Umno, however, said it would continue to back the unity government in Negeri Sembilan to ensure political stability despite the retraction of support for Aminuddin by its state chapter.
Yesterday, party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi reaffirmed that the party remained part of the unity government in Negeri Sembilan and had never discussed replacing Aminuddin as menteri besar.
