Rafizi expressed gratitude to the MACC investigation team for its professional conduct. He said he had not received any information about further action or possible charges to date, as the probe is ongoing, with several more witnesses expected to be called.

He said the four days of questioning focussed on procedural matters, covering meetings, documents and related minutes, rather than financial transactions.

Yesterday, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said the investigation into a RM1.1 billion investment deal involving the economy ministry and UK-based chipmaker Arm Holdings was nearing completion.

He said 22 witnesses had been called so far, including political analyst James Chai, with only two more witnesses left to give their statements, one in Taiwan and another in Malaysia.

MACC opened its investigation on Feb 16 following complaints from several NGOs alleging the deal was rushed and skewed, potentially resulting in financial implications for the government.
