Kelantan police chief Yusoff Mamat, who confirmed this, said the charge would be framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code, Berita Harian reported.
Another suspect who was remanded has been released on police bail.
The two suspects, both 19, were remanded for a further seven days from May 8 after their original seven-day remand order expired.
The main suspect was initially expected to be charged with Nurfisya’s murder on May 7.
Yusoff previously said that jealousy was believed to be the motive behind the murder.
Police arrested three men and one woman, including two senior citizens, in raids on two separate locations in Ketereh following the discovery of the body on May 1. The senior citizens were remanded for three days.
Police also seized a knife believed to have been used in the incident, along with two cars, two mobile phones, a set of clothing and a pair of slippers, among other items.
Investigators believe Nurfisya, a third-year student at a college in Perak, was killed at another location before her body was dumped near a padi field at Kampung Simah in Ketereh.
