PETALING JAYA:
A Selangor executive councillor has welcomed the PAS-organised “Daulat Tuanku” rally slated for this Saturday, saying it is consistent with the state government’s stand on defending Islam, Malay interests, and the royal institution.

State youth, sports and entrepreneurship exco Najwan Halimi expressed hope that the rally outside the state secretariat building in Shah Alam would proceed smoothly.

“I welcome the objectives of this gathering, which are in line with the state government’s consistent stand on defending Islam, the interests of the Malays, and the royal institution in Selangor,” he said in a statement.

Najwan added that he had asked Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar to facilitate the rally so that it would proceed safely.

“I have also been informed that the Selangor menteri besar’s office will provide refreshments for participants.”

The rally is being organised by Selangor PAS Youth, which accused several DAP leaders of disrespecting the state monarch. It will start at 5pm with rallygoers asked to dress in yellow.
