When Lysha and her fiancé decided to get a pet, they came across an absolutely adorable Pembroke Welsh Corgi who immediately captured their hearts.
“She was literally the first dog my partner and I met,” Lysha told FMT. “We went to see other dogs to make sure we weren’t rushing into it, but she was for us – we brought her home two days later.”
They gave the dog a most unusual, and lengthy, name: Biscuit The Little Nugget – “the cheekiest, sweetest, sassiest, friendliest loaf of bread with the biggest personality”.
“Bisky, as she’s affectionately known, is extremely smart and biddable in training, loves playing ‘ball ball’, and is always smiling,” Lysha said fondly.
“At first we thought it was just her face – that she had a permanent smile – but we quickly realised if she disapproved of something, she would not hesitate to let you know it.”

Instances that receive Biscuit’s disapproval include taking too long to give her food; bringing her to the jungle when she doesn’t like dirt; or talking too loud when she’s trying to snooze.
Otherwise, the precious pooch makes everyone who meets her break out in a smile of their own. “People – friends and strangers alike – tend to say hi to her before they even greet us!”
Lysha and her fiancé enjoy spending time with Bisky, making fun treats and meals, teaching her tricks and strengthening exercises, and doing dog puzzles – “anything that makes sure she lives a fulfilling life”.
Like most dogs, food is her absolute favourite thing; according to Lysha, she has an “extremely voracious appetite”.
“In fact, we have only seen her full just once in her life – when she acted as herself in a JinnyBoyTV video last year.” Yes, the talented Biscuit is a mini-celebrity in her own right!
Biscuit and her humans are also active on social media, working with trusted brands and pet-friendly establishments, as well as spreading awareness on balanced meal feeding, and ethical, responsible breeding and corgi ownership.
“Our main message is about spreading love and happiness, treating dogs with the respect and care they deserve, and giving them adventures beyond just four walls.
“We advocate a lot about the good and the bad surrounding corgi ownership. While they can be extremely cute, the breed has been ruined by social media because people mistakenly think they’re gentle cuddly lap dogs.
“People tend to get them because they’re cute, then complain when they exhibit breed tendencies like barking, herding, being sassy, and simply being what they were bred to be like,” she explained.

“Sadly, they fail to understand that they’re herding dogs who need proper training and enrichment so as to not become aggressive or overweight.”
She added that corgis are extremely prone to genetic diseases such as hip dysplasia, dilated cardiomyopathy, and spinal issues, most of which can be avoided through responsible breeding.
“Unfortunately, dogs don’t ever live as long as they should, so we condense all of the love we have for her into every day we have with her,” Lysha concluded.
“Life has been a more meaningful adventure since she came into our lives, and for that she deserves the world and more.”
