PETALING JAYA:
Frontliners like healthcare workers and police personnel, who are putting their lives at risk because of the Covid-19 outbreak in the country are receiving freshly prepared meals through an initiative fronted by Persatuan Care Selangor.

This initiative is a collaboration between the association and Ramada Suites by Wyndham KLCC, Hugo’s KL, and a new courier service known as iSend.

As part of the initiative, 150 hot and wholesome meals will be delivered daily to frontliners working tirelessly at Hospital Sungai Buloh and Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

100 meals will also be delivered to the Kuala Lumpur Police Headquarters every day.

To further aid the frontliners, from March 25 onwards, Hotel Memoir Suites and Thai restaurant, Para Thai will be donating a further 150 meals on a daily basis.

Despite being closed to the public for dining, the kitchen in Hugo’s KL is still operational, providing only breakfast for guests staying there.

This enables the kitchen to cater extra meals each day for medical staff and police officers.

“Our police, doctors and nurses are facing extraordinary workloads due to Covid-19,” said Indera Naresh Mohan, Chairman of Persatuan Care Selangor.

“This assistance is a small gesture to help our frontliners get through this health crisis.

“To those individuals and corporates interested to donate, this will only further ensure our food preparation and meal delivery can increase and continue for the long-term,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rajesh Daswani, General Manager of Ramada Suites by Wyndham KLCC said, “Hospital staff work round the clock to treat Covid-19 patients. A freshly prepared meal is a simple way to show our support and gratitude to these unsung heroes,” said

iSend, a new courier company operating in the Klang Valley, is donating their services to deliver the meals to the respective hospitals and policemen.

“iSend has been delivering these meals to the hospitals each day this week and staff at the hospitals have been so happy to receive a freshly made dinner,” said iSend’s General Manager, Ahmad Nazri Abbas.
