Meet Adudu, the cat who’s perfected the art of staring

As far as Adudu is concerned, if you want attention, you've got to put in the work - and that means staring into someone's face until you get noticed.

‘Look into my eyes and tell me how adorable I am,’ Adudu seems to say.

Meet Adudu, a darling six-month-old who was unceremoniously dumped in front of May Malina’s house by his stray cat mother.

Feeling pity for the beautiful little kitten, May decided to introduce him to the ten other felines who live with her.

She says she’s happy that she did because the angelic Adudu is more “manja” than all the others combined and spends his day doing his own thing without getting in anybody’s way.

“He’s a very friendly cat, and loves to chill. You can hear him purring loudly like an engine running when he sits near any of us.

“Maybe that’s his way of communicating his love and showing us how grateful he is that we took him in,” says May.

Adudu is so friendly by nature that he is gracious even to friends who drop by the house. “Whenever someone comes to our place, Adudu will walk right up to them to say ‘hi’ by meowing sweetly.”

Adudu has elevated staring to an art form – honestly, who can resist those big, soulful eyes?

Being so young, Adudu is quite the attention-getter and does all in his power to be noticed. One thing he has perfected is the art of staring so hard until he gets the desired reaction.

“When he wants my attention, he’ll come sit as close to my face as he possibly can and just stare at me. He can keep this up for quite a while and will only stop once I acknowledge his presence.”

May adds that if there was ever a staring competition, Adudu would win hands… err paws down! Such is the power of his stare.

When he isn’t staring down everything in sight, Adudu likes chomping on lamb – it’s his favourite form of protein. He’s not too happy however about taking his vitamins and fusses no end about it.

A confident and happy-go-lucky cat generally, the only thing that petrifies him and his siblings is the booming, angry sound of the vacuum cleaner. When that horrid thing comes to life, Adudu and his siblings split the scene in a flash.

Adudu is a cool dude who just loves to chill.
