PPBM chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad, speaking at a press conference at his office in Perdana Leadership Foundation here today, said the logo will carry the word “Harapan”, but with a minor adjustment.
The former prime minister, however, did not elaborate on what those adjustments would be.
On a separate matter, Mahathir, who attended a PH presidential council meeting earlier today, was tight-lipped when asked if the opposition coalition had discussed a potential prime minister candidate.
“We haven’t discussed that.”
The issue of who will be prime minister if the opposition coalition succeeds in forming a government has become even more complicated since PPBM became a component of PH.
Prior to this, PKR, DAP and Amanah were in agreement to make former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim their prime minister.
Tension heightened however during PKR’s 12th Congress earlier this month when party delegates raised placards calling for Anwar to be made prime minister as invited guests from PPBM looked on.
The gimmick caused uneasiness among some quarters, including PPBM Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, who called for an independent survey to be conducted so that the public’s choice for the nation’s top post could be identified.
The matter however has remained unresolved, despite the 14th general election being just around the corner.
Amanah communications director Khalid Samad, who was also present at the press conference, said the council discussed the allocation of election seats and the coalition’s joint manifesto.
The Shah Alam MP said PH would finalise seat allocations in a month’s time.
The seats involved were Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan, he added.
