Two foreign nationals were charged in the Magistrate’s Court here today with the murder of a Grab driver last month.

Indian national Gurpreet Singh and Myanmar national Sua Lay were accused of murdering 27-year-old Aiman Nosri at a parking lot in Taman Selayang Makmur on the night of June 21.

Sua Lay is a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) card holder and worked as an assistant in a market while Gurpreet was an assistant lorry driver.

If found guilty, both men will face the mandatory death sentence.

No plea was taken and Magistrate Nurul Izzah Hasan Bahri set Aug 25 as the next mention date.

Both men were not represented while deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Zuhaini Muhammad Amin appeared for the prosecution.

Aiman was found dead in the back seat of his Perodua Myvi last month.

Police said he was found in a bizarre inverted position and they believed he was strangled.

Selangor police chief Mazlan Mansor previously said they had arrested a couple to facilitate the investigation and a foreigner was picked up later.

Based on Grab records, Aiman was said to have picked up passengers from Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock and headed to Selayang Baru.
