KOTA KINABALU:
Unofficial results from the two-day PKR election in Sabah show victory for deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, who won the state after polling more than 10,000 votes.

Azmin garnered a total of 10,466 votes against rival Rafizi Ramli in 24 out of the 25 state divisions that voted. Rafizi meanwhile polled 8,872 votes, 1,574 behind Azmin.

Azmin, the economic affairs minister, secured 15 divisions compared to Rafizi who won nine.

This tally does not include votes from the Keningau division, where results were stymied following an argument which saw an altercation between Rafizi and party members.

Sabah PKR vice-chairman Kenny Chua said then that polling in Keningau was cancelled, but gave no reason for the decision.

It is understood that the e-voting process in Keningau, seen as a Rafizi stronghold with some 7,000 voting members, had been mired in internet connectivity problems.
