PUTRAJAYA: PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan has confirmed that the Islamist party is a part of a pro tem committee with PPBM to officially register Perikatan Nasional (PN) as a coalition.
However, he said he was unsure if Barisan Nasional (BN) will be joining the committee.
“PAS is there, PPBM is there. For BN, you’ll have to ask BN. I’m not sure,” he told reporters when met after an event here today.
Takiyuddin also confirmed that his party had agreed to officially register PN.
Yesterday, PPBM Supreme Council member Mohd Redzuan Yusof said PN was being registered. Its application to register as a coalition had already been sent to the Registrar of Societies.
However, Umno had previously announced that it will not be joining PN, instead saying it wanted to strengthen Muafakat Nasional, its political alliance with PAS.
