Nilai to be placed under CMCO from Oct 28

The decision was made due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in the locality.

Ismail Sabri Yaakob said EMCO would be enforced in two localities with worker hostels in Putra Point, Nilai, which were found to have contributed to the rise in cases.
PETALING JAYA:
Nilai in Negeri Sembilan will be placed under a conditional movement control order (CMCO) beginning Oct 28 until Nov 10.

Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this was due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in the locality.

“After getting confirmation from the health ministry about the increase in cases among foreigners in Nilai, today’s National Security Council meeting agreed to implement the CMCO in Nilai,” said Ismail at a press conference.

While all economic sectors will be allowed to operate, all social activities will be prohibited.

All activities in mosques and suraus are not allowed, except for the azan – or call for prayer – and five daily prayers, with the number of congregants to be decided by the state religious authorities.

Ismail also said an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) would be enforced in two localities with worker hostels in Putra Point, Nilai, which were found to have contributed to the rise in cases.

The EMCO along Jalan BBN 1/7B, Jalan BBN 1/7F and Jalan BBN 1/2E will be implemented from Oct 28 to Nov 10.

“The EMCO in these areas will allow us to curb infections and transmissions, and enable targeted case detection throughout the 14 days,” he said.

“It seems like there are more areas under CMCO and EMCO every day, which shows that there are more cases in certain places.

“I want to remind everyone to follow the SOPs.”

Negeri Sembilan recorded 25 new cases today. Overall, 1,337 infections were recorded in the state.
