CMCO extended for Selangor, KL, lifted for several other states

The CMCO for several states was previously scheduled to end on Dec 6.

The CMCO in Perak, Kelantan, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Labuan and Putrajaya will be lifted from midnight tomorrow.
KUALA LUMPUR:
The conditional movement control order (CMCO) for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Sabah will be extended for another 14 days from Dec 7 until 20, said Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Meanwhile, the CMCO in Perak, Kelantan, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Labuan and Putrajaya will be lifted from midnight tomorrow.

However, certain districts and sub-districts that are red zones or high-risk areas within these states will still be under strict lockdown.

For Penang, a total of 2,177 positive cases of Covid-19 have been recorded and out of that number, 1,824 cases have fully recovered.

“As at Dec 2, there are 348 active cases for this state while two subdistricts are still under red zones — Mukim 12 in the south-west district and Mukim 13 in the north-east district — which involve non-citizen factory workers.”

Therefore, he added that the two subdistricts will continue to be under CMCO, starting Dec 7 until Dec 20.

Meanwhile, two localities in Penang — namely Flat Persiaran Paya Terubong in Relau and Flat Desa Bistari in Batu Uban —will be placed under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Dec 7 until Dec 20.

For Perak, the Kinta district, Mukim Teja in Kampar district and Mukim Changkat Jong in Hilir Perak district will continue their CMCO starting Dec 7 until Dec 20.

He added that there had been an increase in positive Covid-19 cases at the Langkap immigration detention depot and quarters in Hilir Perak district.

“As at Dec 4, a total of 1,348 screenings have been carried out on detainees and staff where 316 positive cases were found.”

Therefore, EMCO will be implemented at this location effective Dec 6 until Dec 19, affecting 1,187 detainees, 161 staff and 57 family members.

Four districts in Kelantan — Kota Bharu (48), Pasir Mas (12), Machang (17) and Tanah Merah (32) — still recorded high active cases of Covid-19. Therefore, the government has decided to extend CMCO in these districts, starting from Dec 7 until Dec 20.

Further, EMCO will be implemented at madrasah Ad-Diniah Al Falahiah, Pasir Puteh, from Dec 7 until Dec 20 following an increase in Covid-19 cases among the students.

A total of 80 screenings have been done. Of that number, 20 positive cases have been recorded.

For Negeri Sembilan, only Seremban and Port Dickson will continue to be under the CMCO from Dec 7 until Dec 20.

For Johor, the CMCO is lifted in all districts, except for Johor Bahru, Batu Pahat and Kulai, which will continue with the CMCO until Dec 20.

“The CMCO in Sabah will be extended for another 14 days until Dec 20. However, the government has agreed to relax the entry SOPs in the state.

“All individuals who enter Sabah must undergo an RT-PCR or RTK-Ag Covid-19 detection test swab three days before travel. Only individuals who do not have symptoms and with negative test results will be allowed to enter Sabah,” he said.

The other states, such as Terengganu, Pahang, Perlis, Melaka and Sarawak, will remain under RMCO until Dec 31.

“However, all CMCO or EMCO implemented in the districts, sub-districts and localities in these states will remain.”

Meanwhile, the CMCO for Labuan and Putrajaya ends tomorrow and will shift back to the RMCO.
