KUALA LUMPUR:
Police have arrested two men, one with a “Datuk” title, for assaulting another customer and his girlfriend at a restaurant in Tropicana Avenue, Petaling Jaya, last Tuesday.

A video of the incident which showed the suspect hitting a young man after the latter had asked the Datuk and his friends to lower their voice has gone viral on social media.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal had previously told Bernama that the man was also suspected of slapping the victim’s girlfriend before leaving the restaurant.

“The case is currently being investigated under Section 323/506 of the Penal Code,” Nik Ezanee told FMT when contacted.
