A 34-year-old chef was charged today with murdering his wife by pushing her from the 18th floor of a condominium in Air Itam two weeks ago.

Daneesh Xavier Francis Xavier, 34, was charged with murdering Primila Santhiran, 35, an insurance agent, at the Bukit Awana Condominium in Paya Terubong at around midnight on April 10.

He was charged at the magistrates’ court here under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. No plea was recorded.

Deputy public prosecutor Yazid Mustaqim Roslan prosecuted, and Daneesh was unrepresented. Magistrate Jamaliah Abd Manap set June 26 for mention.

Reports had said that Daneesh, from Masai, Johor, had quarrelled with Primila before police were alerted to a woman’s body found at the foot of the 31-storey condominium block.
