
This is in addition to the RM73.877 million Pakej Kita Selangor aid that Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari announced in January.
Amirudin disclosed this in a special announcement in a virtual press conference today.
He said the package was designed based on three strategies and 25 programmes to address the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the people and businesses in the state.
The state government will continue the food basket initiative worth RM3.28 million for the low-income group and those affected by the pandemic.
Student loan repayments have also been deferred for 12 months after completion of studies while food aid will be given to students. These measures are worth RM2.8 million.
A total of RM900,000 will be spent for July rental deferment for some 2,632 PPR occupants and 477 participants of Skim Smart Sewa.
“To ensure (the) continued supply of food, a special agropreneur aid with the allocation of RM10 million will be given,” Amirudin said.
Some 30 agropreneurs will receive the aid in the form of one-acre piece of land in Bukit Changgang, Banting.
For the tourism sector, the state government will provide tourism grants, vouchers and one-off payments for tourism associations worth RM2.55 million.
He said Selangor would continue the free Covid-19 mass screening programme under phase three with a target of 100,000 screenings.
The state will also provide a “home assessment tool” for those under home quarantine in Selangor. Each tool consists of N95 face masks, thermometer, oximeter, medicine and a saliva test kit.
The state government will be allocating RM100,000 for a new domestic violence hotline, RM600,000 for the disabled and RM1,000 one-off monetary aid (khairat kematian) or almsgiving for families of deceased Covid-19 patients in the state worth RM1.5 million.
He also announced some RM1 million for e-hailing rebates worth RM20 for vaccination purpose. This initiative will benefit 50,000 individuals.
The state will also allocate RM500,000 to establish a special committee on health control compliance for industries. The committee will be responsible for preventing outbreaks at workplaces.
Some RM17.5 million will be spent on the Selangor internet programme where 70,000 individuals from the B40 group will receive SIM cards with unlimited data with a special rate of RM35 per month, with RM20 per month subsidised by the Menteri Besar Selangor (Inc) for a period of 12 months.
