Azis said they were only involved after PH had agreed to sign the agreement with the government, adding that Warisan was merely called up to be briefed about the matter by the coalition.
“Is it PH’s view that just calling us for a briefing is a sign that Warisan was involved?
“How can we sign something if we were not informed and involved in more detail?” he said when contacted by FMT today.
The Sepanggar MP said the party should have been roped in earlier in discussions so that it can ensure that Sabahans’ needs were covered.
“If Warisan was brought in from the onset, we would have pressed on the Malaysia Agreement 1963. The views of Sabahans and Sarawakians need to be heard by the opposition bloc.”
Earlier, DAP organising secretary and PH chief whip Loke Siew Fook denied sidelining the other opposition parties in the negotiation process for the MoU with Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s government.
He said a special briefing on the contents of the MoU had been presented to Pejuang by the top leaders of PH yesterday evening, adding that Warisan had been invited too but was absent.
In a Twitter post, Pejuang information chief Ulya Aqamah Husamudin also criticised Loke’s statement, saying a briefing was not the same as discussions with his party.
“Briefing and asking for our agreement on your decision after your several dealings with Umno and (Bersatu secretary-general) Hamzah Zainudin is not a discussion,” he said.
