KOTA KINABALU:
Sabah has recorded another Covid-19 cluster involving boarding schools for the second day running, with the latest detected in the interior Tenom district.

State local government and housing minister Masidi Manjun said 15 people, including students, had been infected so far in the Mantailang Atas cluster in Tenom.

“The index case is a student staying at the SMK Tenom hostel, who was found infected following a screening on Nov 13,” he said in his Covid-19 analysis report today.

“Close contact screenings among hostel mates as well as family members found 15 others infected thus far.”

It was reported yesterday that SMK Kemburongoh in the Ranau district had been announced as a cluster, with 22 people, including students and the hostel warden, among those infected.

The index case also involved a student staying at the hostel.

Meanwhile, Masidi said the state recorded 543 new daily cases today — two more than reported yesterday.
