32,000 moved to flood relief centres in Selangor

Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari says the Klang district has the most number of evacuees.

The Klang district bore the brunt of last weekend’s floods in Selangor.
PETALING JAYA:
A total of 32,044 flood victims have been placed in 162 temporary relief centres across the nine districts in Selangor, menteri besar Amirudin Shari said.

In a Facebook post, he said Klang recorded the highest number with 18,858 as of 10am.

This follows the incessant rain on Friday and Saturday that inundated many parts of the state and elsewhere in the peninsula.

Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka are among the other states badly affected by the floods.

In Selangor, the water levels have started to recede but search and rescue operations are ongoing in the worst affected areas.
