Communications and multimedia minister Annuar Musa said PH’s action had essentially nullified the MoU, Bernama reported.
“In my opinion, because of their actions, the MoU is cancelled.

“This is a blessing in disguise as the prime minister can now cancel or suspend the implementation of the MoU,” he said in a Facebook post today, adding: “Suspend the MoU! Jom!… We will prepare for GE15.”
According to Annuar, Article 3.3(b) of the MoU stipulated that PH would agree to support or remain neutral in any motion tabled by the government.
The motion to extend the enforcement of sub-section 4(5) of the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) for another five years was rejected by the Dewan Rakyat today.
The motion, tabled by home minister Hamzah Zainudin, was not passed in a bloc vote after 84 MPs voted in favour and 86 against. The remaining 50 MPs were absent.
DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook later took to Facebook in a live webcast to say that the rejection of the motion did not contravene the MoU which was signed last September.
He said the decision by PH MPs to vote against the extension of the Sosma provision did not threaten the MoU at all.
“The coalition did not violate its obligation even though we voted against this motion. It is our right as MPs,” he added.
Loke also pointed out that Putrajaya did not discuss the extension of this Sosma provision with the opposition.
“It should have been discussed but since it was not, we are entitled to our stance,” he said.
