
PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has detained a suspect to assist in an investigation into a corruption case related to a RM132 million project involving an automotive institute.
According to an MACC source, the 36-year-old senior company adviser has been remanded for four days to April 1.
He is believed to have given a RM5 million bribe in return for the company under his control getting a project grant.
MACC’s special operations division senior director Tan Kang Sai confirmed the arrest.
Last week, nine individuals aged between 34 and 58, including a “Datuk”, were also remanded to assist in an investigation into a RM85 million project involving an automotive institute.
