Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai confirmed to FMT that a report had been lodged and that police were “still hunting them down”.
He said the complainant was a foreigner studying here, and the investigations were being conducted under Sections 323 and 393 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and attempting to commit robbery.
Later this evening, Beh said a 32-year-old man believed to be the pillion rider had been arrested in Jinjang North. He has two previous offences on his record.
“The incident took place in front of Sekolah Kebangsaan Kiaramas at Persiaran Dutamas,” said Beh.
This comes after the complainant took to Instagram to caution others about the incident last night, explaining how she and a friend were walking to Publika when they were catcalled by two men on a motorcycle.
She said they disregarded them at first but the men approached them on their motorcycle repeatedly, prompting them to run to a nearby school.

“That’s when one of the men (wearing white) jumped off his bike and ran to attack us.
“My friend managed to escape but I didn’t. He slipped and fell as he took a swing at me with a large stick. I took that opportunity to beat him while he was down.
“He bit my arm and then his friend jumped off the bike to attack me, so I turned to run. I wasn’t fast enough and felt one of them hit me on my back with the stick.
“There was a security guard from the school who opened a gate for us to run in to safety but, at that point, the men had escaped.
“I’ve filed a police report but please help me in sharing this to bring attention,” said the complainant.
In a statement issued later, Beh said the suspect had attempted to steal the complainant’s phone at some point during the incident but failed.
He said the complainant received outpatient treatment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur for the bruises she sustained from getting hit with the stick.
