KUALA LUMPUR:
More than 800 people from 200 families around the Klang Valley have been placed in relief centres following flash floods in several areas last night and early this morning.

Bernama quoted the Selangor civil defence force as saying that seven centres have been opened to accommodate the victims.

Selangor fire and rescue department director Norazam Khamis was also quoted as saying that a landslide occurred early this morning at Taman Sri Jelok, Kajang, involving a two-storey terrace house. Its four occupants, aged 19 to 26, were safely evacuated.

A Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue station spokesman said the situation was under control despite heavy rain early this morning, but monitoring, especially in hotspot areas, would continue.

It was reported that Klang, Petaling and Hulu Langat were among the areas that were affected. Several people also took to social media to report flooding in a number of areas in Sepang.
