Speaking to reporters after casting his ballot here this morning, the Bersatu deputy president also likened Anwar, the PKR president, to “Godzilla”.
“My chances look positive, going up against Godzilla, I am Ultraman,” he told reporters briefly.
The former Perak menteri besar also hoped that Malaysians nationwide will not have to wait till the wee hours of the morning for the election results.
He believed that this was possible since the Election Commission (EC) had enough officers to supervise the vote-counting process while technology had advanced since 2018.
“I believe it shouldn’t be difficult to count the votes. I hope we don’t have to wait till midnight (for the results),” he said.
He also expressed his condolences to the family of Yunus Ramli, the PN candidate for the Tioman state seat in Pahang who had died earlier this morning due to heart complications.
Faizal and his wife, Nomee Ashikin, were among the first to arrive at the Sekolah Agama Rakyat Al-Ihtidayah polling centre at Tambun Heights to cast their votes for the Tambun parliamentary seat and Hulu Kinta state seat.
The former Tambun MP is in a four-way fight to defend his seat, going up against Anwar, Barisan Nasional’s Aminuddin Hanafiah and Pejuang’s Abdul Rahim Tahir.
