
His assurance came after former IGP Musa Hassan raised suspicion over the incident, saying it was likely that the dead policeman was the victim of a crime.
The body of the police sergeant was found behind the Bayan Lepas police station on Feb 19. There were gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and head.
Acryl Sani said police have opened an investigation paper although the incident had been classified as sudden death.
“We have asked for the post-mortem report,” he told reporters on the sidelines of an event at the police college in Cheras today.
“The police will never close (a report) or cover up wrongdoing by any party. We will thoroughly investigate the incident.”
Southwest district police chief Kamarul Rizal Jenal said the body of the policeman, who was attached to the same police station, was behind the station at 3.30pm.
Separately, Acryl Sani said the police were still investigating a case where a dismembered body was found along the North-South Expressway last month.
A black bag containing parts of a body was found along the highway.
